The Swell Season Poster

The Swell Season Poster

This was another last minute design.  Sara did the illustration for the animals and I did the rest.  Two colors, pink and blue on our house sheet.  Design was done in a day, printing in a few hours just in time for a speaking presentation detailing the process of creating this poster.  We had no time to coat the 280 mesh screens which we needed for the fine detail in this design.  So we used a 155 mesh and lost a lot of the fine lines and halftones in the final print.

Coheed and Cambria/Circa Survive Poster

Coheed and Cambria/Circa Survive Poster

18×23, New 6 color print for Coheed and Cambria, Circa Survive and Torche show at Revolution Live. Printed with 4 tones of metallic silver, standard red, and a lightly tinted pearlescent varnish overprint. On White stock. Looks different as tilted and in different light.  I was on the fence about the varnish layer once seeing it in person.  It sort of dulled down the look of the metallics more than anticipated.  But it was still pretty sweet in the light.

Wilco Poster

Wilco Poster

Poster design for Wilco’s Show “An Evening with Wilco” at the Fillmore Miami Beach on March 22nd. Poster is 5 colors, clear varnish, 3 shades of dark tan, and a red over print. Paper is French Poptone Blue Raspberry and it is cut to 18×24.  Some mini-facts:  the sea horse skeleton is one I own, it is currently in my living room.  I hand delivered these in his pajamas with a broken leg in rush hour traffic.  And the sea horse was almost given a monocle but I decided that was too lame.  Word.

Yet another great print in the series for the Misfits featuring the pen-and-ink styling of Omar Angulo. 3 colors (2 metallic bronze inks and matte black) on white 18X23 house stock. Layout and design by Me with some sweet design elements Chuck made for the previous misfits posters.

Megadeth Poster

Megadeth Poster

4C (Metallic Silver, Blue, Darker Blue, Black) for Megadeth show. Illustration works by Seven Basilio, layout, concept, and design by Ian.  As soon as I saw Megadeth on our to-do list I exclaimed “Megaman Zombie!” and with the help of the always amazing Basilio, it was reality.  He provided the black line art of megaman and I did the rest.

AFI Poster

AFI Poster

AFI and Davey Havoc got really fruity.  And this poster is ugly.  The black ink was supposed to be red ink so it was a glossy paper with a matte ink on top for a subtle texture/pattern.  And the gold/yellows didn’t turn out very bright either.  This happens a lot when you don’t give the printer any time to check stuff as is often the case with these last minute designs.  My fault.  3 color print for AFI at Revolution Live! in Fort Lauderdale; Gold, Dark Gold, and Black on 18×23 cherry red glossy stock.  Attached below the real printed version is how I intended it to look.

Iron Forge Gallery Showing in Norrköping, Sweden

Iron Forge Gallery Showing in Norrköping, Sweden

Thanks to Valentin Mellström for hooking us up with the show.  We only had 2 days notice to prepare work, but we stripped out band names and used art from existing poster projects to get some designs over in time for the show.  Attached is the flier for the event and a collage of the designs we sent.  Our entries included designs and illustration by Chuck Loose and Myself, as well as illustrations by Basilio Mendez and Omar Angulo, two of our favorite illustrators to collaborate with on Iron Forge Projects.

Blink-182 Poster

Blink-182 Poster

Blink-182. Didn’t really know what to do for these guys so I took their logo and created a zombie dude with arrows in his head to mimic the style in an unexpected way. Poster is 1 black, 1 transparent white, and 4 shades of teal for 6 colors on 18×23 inch glossy red paper. The color combo makes your eyes confused which is fun.  BUY HERE
