I am still playing WoW (though I have not logged in for 2 weeks >_< due to work). I have been way too busy to raid and get my toon the last couple pieces that would actually be considered upgrades. The release of patch 3.1 will bring a lot of fresh content and new changes to the game so I will likely be on more regularly once that hits.
In the console area, I am not playing much. SFIV got played for like 3 days then got boring. It just did not have the legs that Soul Caliber had. That game had massive replay value with tons of customization where street fighter has, well, none, as well as less characters. Other than that I have not picked anything new up recently. No Killzone 2 or anything like that. I did want to download Flower on the PSN. That game looked rad. In fact, I am going to download that tonight ha.
I have been playing a lot of games on the iPhone. The game offerings on it are excellent. If you don’t have an iPhone, well, I feel for you. Field Runners and Besiegement are awesome tower defense games both worth picking up. iShoot is a very fun game similar to the “Worms” franchise on the play station. And of course the huge list of licensed games made by EA are all great since they had half the work done for them (concept, story, playstyle etc) and simply had to port these things into an iPhone-friendly package.
Then there are the upcoming games that I am stoked for. Of course, like everyone else, Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3 can’t come out fast enough for me. I am actually sort of dreading thier release because it will undoubtedly be a struggle to focus on anything but those games for months on end. But a couple days ago I stumbled upon League of Legends and I was mega-pumped. This is the game my friends and I had been talking about that needed to be made and it finally has. For anyone who was as addicted to DoTA as we were/are, League of Legends is the best thing going. Created by two huge members of the DoTA-Allstars community Pendragon and Guinsoo with the Riot Studios team, League of Legends is the best hope for bringing a DoTA style game to life outside of the Warcraft 3 engine. 2009 is going to be epic for PC gaming with LOL and SC2 hopefully hitting shelves. D3 I can only assume won’t see a 2009 release but that is okay with me, I will be spread thin all ready between LOL, SC2 and whatever console and iPhone games catch my fancy.
